Vulvar vaginitis may also be called vaginosis, and is not diagnosed with a cone biopsy. Some cases may stem from the violation of hygiene rules and a low level of estrogen, which is common is postmenopausal and breast feeding women. In this case, the tissue of the lips becomes thin and inflamed leading to pain during intercourse. Vulvar vaginitis may also be called vaginosis, and is not diagnosed with a cone biopsy.
