Recurring bacterial vaginosis cannot lead to lichen sclerosis, as BV is not caused by HPV. The treatment for this infection is both simple and effective. Symptoms are not always present although they include a fishy smell, increased or different vaginal discharge, and vulvar itching. This infection is the most common cause of vaginitis in the United States. Recurring bacterial vaginosis cannot lead to lichen sclerosis, as BV is not caused by HPV.

Health care providers will often determine that a longer treatment period of 10-14 days may be needed or they may switch medication. For about 30 percent of patients that have had BV, they find it comes back within 3 months. Recurring bacterial vaginosis cannot lead to lichen sclerosis, as BV is not caused by HPV.
