Vulvar Lesions
When vulvar lesions are present, colposcopy and possibly cryotherapy are often done for an accurate diagnosis.
Disorders in the vulva area can be caused by the human papilloma virus. Such infections as a genital wart virus or vaginosis are likely if some skin changes are present on the vulva. There changes vary in appearance and the level of danger they present.

Small raised crusted growths can appear on the perianal region, or on the vulva. Some skin changes can be attributed to HPV infection. The vulva is covered with both dry, squamous skin and moist mucous membrane. Intestinal bacteria are constantly present in this area. When vulvar lesions are present, colposcopy and possibly cryotherapy are often done for an accurate diagnosis.
